WCPOS vs FooSales
WCPOS and FooSales both add a point of sale to your WooCommerce store. FooSales is a yearly subscription per store, with iPad, iPhone and Android apps, an offline order mode, and Tap to Pay on its Plus plan; WCPOS is a free plugin with one-time Pro licenses, desktop apps, and a wider choice of card terminals. Here is how they compare, and when FooSales is the better choice.

The short answer
WCPOS is a free, open-source point of sale plugin for WooCommerce, with no caps on products, orders, or customers. It runs in any modern browser, as desktop apps for Windows and macOS, and as iOS and Android apps (beta), with any WooCommerce payment gateway. WCPOS charges no transaction fees. Pro adds multi-store management and card-terminal integrations for a one-time payment — $129 for a year of updates or $399 lifetime — and keeps working after the year ends.
FooSales is a point of sale for WooCommerce sold as a yearly subscription for each website. On 2026-10-07, foosales.com listed two plans after a 7-day free trial: Core at US$19 a month and Plus at US$38 a month, both billed annually per store, with Plus adding Square and Stripe payments. It has iPad, iPhone and Android apps and a web app. FooSales says its apps keep working offline and sync orders when the connection returns, and on the Plus plan it supports Tap to Pay on iPhone and Android. Its help centre says plans include 3 users and 3 devices, and that cancelling a plan ends access to the FooSales POS and apps. On the US App Store, its app had 3.6 stars from 8 ratings.

What does it cost?
On 2026-10-07, foosales.com listed two plans, both billed annually per store: Core at US$19 a month, and Plus at US$38 a month, which adds Square payments, Stripe payments, WooCommerce Product Add-ons and FooEvents integration. Both include updates and email support. No monthly option and no free plan were listed; a 7-day free trial, with no credit card required, includes every Plus feature. Each website or subdomain needs its own plan, and extra users and devices are sold as add-ons. Check foosales.com/pricing for current prices.
WCPOS is free, with no caps on products, orders, customers, or cash sales. Pro is $129 — a one-time payment covering one year of updates and priority support — or $399 lifetime. It never auto-renews, and Pro keeps working after the year ends: nothing switches off, ever. WCPOS charges no transaction fees; you pay your payment processor's own rates.
Billed annually, FooSales Core works out to US$228 a year per store, and Plus, which has the Square and Stripe integrations, to US$456. WCPOS Pro, with its card-terminal integrations, is a one-time $129 for a year of updates or $399 lifetime. FooSales's help centre says cancelling a plan ends access to its POS and apps; an expired WCPOS Pro license keeps working.
Pro adds: multi-store management, card-terminal integrations, coupons, refunds via the POS API, order history, customer management at the register, store-specific pricing, stock and price editing, end-of-day reports, and the extension directory.

Where FooSales is genuinely better
An honest comparison cuts both ways:
- Tap to Pay on iPhone and Android — with FooSales Plus, a customer can hold their card to your phone, through Stripe or Square. WCPOS does not support Tap to Pay.
- Offline orders — FooSales says its apps keep recording new orders, cancellations and refunds without an internet connection and sync them to WooCommerce when the connection returns. WCPOS lets you browse products and build carts offline, but checkout needs a connection.
If you want Tap to Pay on a phone or an offline order mode, and a yearly subscription for each store suits you, FooSales may be the better fit.
Which should you choose?
Choose WCPOS if:
You want a free plugin with no caps, one-time Pro pricing that keeps working if you stop paying, unlimited devices and cashiers, multi-store management, desktop apps for Windows and macOS, or a SumUp, PayPal Reader (Zettle) or Mollie terminal, which FooSales's roadmap lists as integration requests.
Choose FooSales if:
You want Tap to Pay on iPhone or Android, an offline order mode, Square Readers on a tablet, or FooEvents integration, and a yearly subscription for each store suits you.
Frequently asked questions
How much does FooSales cost?
On 2026-10-07, foosales.com listed FooSales Core at US$19 a month and FooSales Plus at US$38 a month, both billed annually per store, after a 7-day free trial that needs no credit card. No free plan was listed. Check foosales.com/pricing for current prices. WCPOS is free, and WCPOS Pro is a one-time $129 for a year of updates or $399 lifetime.
What happens if you stop paying for FooSales?
FooSales's help centre says that cancelling a plan cancels access to the POS: once the cancellation has been processed, you can no longer use the FooSales web POS or its apps. After the 7-day trial, you need a plan to keep using the apps. With WCPOS, an expired Pro license keeps working: you keep your register, your data, and every feature, and only updates and priority support pause.
Does FooSales work offline?
FooSales says it does: its apps switch to offline mode when the connection drops, most of the POS keeps working, and new orders, cancelled orders and refunds are stored on the device and synced to WooCommerce when you are back online. Its help centre says customers can't be created or modified offline and stock values can't be changed, and its payments page says WooCommerce coupons need an internet connection. WCPOS stores products, customers, and carts locally, so you can browse the catalog and build sales without a connection; completing checkout requires server connectivity.
Which card terminals do FooSales and WCPOS support?
On its Plus plan, FooSales integrates Square Terminal on all its apps, Square Readers on its tablet apps, and Stripe Terminal readers, and supports Tap to Pay on iPhone and Android through Stripe or Square. Other card readers can be used outside FooSales, with the sale recorded at checkout as a card payment. WCPOS Pro's card-terminal integrations include Stripe Terminal, SumUp, PayPal Reader (Zettle), Square Terminal, Mollie Terminal, and Vipps MobilePay. WCPOS does not support Tap to Pay.
Does FooSales have native apps?
Yes. FooSales has apps for iPad and iPhone (iOS 16.4 or later) and for Android (Android 10 or later), and a web app that runs in modern browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. Its App Store listing says the iOS app also runs on a Mac with an Apple M1 chip or later. WCPOS runs in any modern browser, as desktop apps for Windows and macOS, and as iOS and Android apps (beta).
What happens when a WCPOS Pro license expires?
Nothing switches off. The Pro version you have keeps working for as long as you want — your register, your data, every feature. You stop receiving new updates and priority support until you choose to renew. This is deliberate: it means renewals have to be earned with updates worth paying for, and it guarantees your point of sale can never be remotely disabled.
